The young chief Farsighted Falcon and his wife Bluehair are on their way to the Black Hills accompanied by two other Dakota warriors. At the same time the power struggle for economic predominance has reached its climax in the town of Tanglewood at the foot of the Black Hills. Harrington's mining company is striving for an unchallenged monopoly. In order to fight his biggest competitor, Harrington is paying a group of terrorists lead by the adventurer Bashan to rob the coach carrying the payroll money belonging to the well established and rich overland shipping contractor Blake.

Returning from the robbery, the bandits kill Falcon's wife Bluehair. Little Wolf of the Cheyenne tribe offers to let Falcon to stay with them, but Falcon decides to leave and find his wife's murderer. Riding towards Tanglewood he meets the young sheriff Patterson, who is guarding over a second money delivery to the town. Patterson and Falcon drive the attacking bandits away and get to Tanglewood together. During a brutal fight Falcon kills the murderer of his wife, the leader of the bandits, Bashan. Shortly after, the young chief is killed by the white bandits. Disillusioned, Patterson resigns from office.
